Main Objectives 1. To manage, support and develop the family department 2. To oversee the training and supervision of volunteers. 3. To ensure good practice. 4. To outwork objectives in line with WPFC vision document and project goals 5. Christian Leadership Main duties and responsibilities 1. To manage, support and develop the family department a. Oversee and be responsible for all early years and parent support activities. b. Ensure a curriculum is maintained for existing and future activities. c. Develop and implement a parent support and advice programme. d. Provide pastoral support for users, referring on when appropriate. f. Work with statutory and voluntary group to meet identified needs for families, in particular the Common Assessment Framework. g. Maintain up to date knowledge of relevant issues and funding opportunities. h. Work alongside other WPFC activities and staff. 2. To oversee the training and supervision of volunteers and sessional workers a. Ensure safe recruitment of volunteers and sessional workers, including completion of application forms, and liaising with Safeguarding leads to ensure Criminal Record Bureau checks are in place b. Responsible for providing training in good practice and delivery. c. Provide supervision for all staff on a regular basis. 3. To ensure good practice. a. Ensure activities work towards agreed targets and set outcomes. b. Evaluate and assess needs of current and new projects. c. Maintain financial systems as directed by Trustees. d. Provide Line Manager with termly and annual reports. e. Maintain statistical data for all activities, including ‘e-start’ f. Monitor outcomes and outputs as required by funders. g. Develop and maintain a quality assurance system. h. Ensure Safeguarding procedures are in place for all activities i. Ensure risk assessments are in place for all activities j. Carry out duties in a manner which is consistent with WPFC policies, procedures, maintaining at all times it’s Christian values and ethos.
4. To outwork objectives in line with WPFC vision document and project goals a. Meet Line Manager monthly b. Attend weekly staff meetings c. Lead termly department meeting 5. Christian Leadership A. Take a leading role in the developing, maintaining and reviewing of the Christian ethos of WPFC, providing a role model for the organisation’s vision, mission and values in line with G.O.R. guidelines. b. Ensure when representing WPFC internally and externally, that the Christian ethos of the organisation is promoted in a positive way, acknowledging God’s presence and making God available to people whenever and wherever possible. c. Be prepared to lead and/or join prayer/biblical reflection as and when possible at meetings, conferences and staff gatherings, as appropriate. d. Manage staff or volunteers (when relevant) in a holistic way taking into account individuals personal spiritual faith and development as appropriate.
